This is why Wacom equipped the Intuos4 to be as comfortable as possible. Slim and ergonomic, it offers a sloping palm rest and complete hand support for hours of comfortable use. Its ambidextrous, reversible tablet design puts the ExpressKeys™ in the correct position at all times – regardless of whether you are right-handed or left-handed. New Features
New Wacom Tip Sensor with 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity
Doubling the levels of pressure sensitivity from 1.024 in Intuos3 to 2.048 levels, the new Wacom Tip Sensor provides unsurpassed pen control and sensitivity. Now with 2.048 levels of pressure-sensitivity on the pen tip and eraser, the Intuos4 pen allows you to control software tools even more precisely.
Reduced activation force
The minimum activation pressure has been reduced from 10 grams down to less than 1 gram. This enables you to apply even lighter pressure on the pen to make it work which reduce strains on your arm and preserve the tablet surface even more.
Precision mode
The new Precision Mode allows you to control the pen on pixel-level, a task sometimes hard to achive while using a high-resolution input device such as the Intuos4 tablet. The precision mode switches your mouse cursor into a state that could be best described as "slow-motion" for your pen. Select single pixels or place guidelines precisely without compromising the high-resolution feel of Intuos4.
User-defined Touch Ring with toggle functionality
The Touch Ring can be used in many ways in a single program, for instance, it can be used for zooming, horizontal/vertical scrolling as well as canvas rotation. With the Touch Ring′s toggle feature, you can easily switch between different modes. One click on the center button and you start zooming in/out, another click and you can scroll vertically. Up to four states can be saved - for each application, of course.
Eight customisable ExpressKeys™ including OLED-displays on M, L and XL tablet model
Thanks to the new tablet design, all eight ExpressKeys (six on Intuos4 S) are now within reach of one hand and in conjunction with the programmable Touch Ring it makes functions like scrolling, zooming, brush size, canvas rotation, and layer selection much more efficient than ever before. With the innovative OLED displays beside each ExpressKey (not available on Intuos4 S), you can easily identify what function each ExpressKey will trigger. This comes in handy if you have a lot of functions across different applications.
New radial menus
The new radial menus replace the previous pop-up menus and are an improved, faster and easier way to use and manage your customised fnctions. And it looks cool, too.
New tablet design
Intuos4 has been completely re-designed to accommodate the needs for both left- and right-hand users. Now all ExpressKeys as well as the TouchRing are within reach of your non-dominant hand; simply turn the tablet by 180°. The OLED displays will switch orientation accordingly. The thinner, more ergonomically re-designed table with its new surface texturing enable you to work with even less strain and increased comfort.
New Grip Pen
The new Intuos4 GripPen has the look and feel of an elegant writing tool and features a new ergonomically designed cushioned grip area that improves comfort and control. With the supplied coloured identity rings, you can personalise your pen and the four different nibs provides an even petter pen-on-paper feel. Those nibs can be easily stored in the new pen stand that holds the nibs and the nib extractor as well. Additionally, each Intuos4 tablet comes with an additional "thick bodied" replacement grip for those preferring a thicker grip on their pen.
