The iRiver Story is a 6-inch ebook reader that many would consider a "Kindle clone". It looks a lot like a Kindle and shares many of its features, most notably the white design and QWERTY keyboard. After the iRiver Story’s release in the UK, Germany and Korea, it’s finally here in SA.

The iRiver Story includes features such as 6-inch e-ink display with a 800 x 600 resolution, has a built-in mp3 player, voice recorder, office file viewer, personal organizer, a memopad and a scheduler. You can store up to 13,000 books with its 2GB internal memory and an expansion SD Card slot that can store up to 32GB. This gadget can read Microsoft Excel files (.xls), PowerPoint (.ppt), Adobe Acrobat files (.pdf), Microsoft Word (.doc), e-Pub, and play wma and MP3 audio files. The battery life lasts for up to 9,000 pages – up to 30 books. How is that possible? It’s because the iRiver Story will consume battery life only if the pages are turned. If you will be using this to play audio files, the battery can last for up to 24hrs. If you want to record voice, then it can last for up to 5hrs.

iriver Story is a portable e-book reader that utilizes the E-ink film display technology. It is designed to provide the same experience as reading on printed paper. You can read your favorite books and various contents as much as you like.

iriver Story supports e-Pub as well as Adobe PDF. It is especially useful for businessmen who travel frequently as it also supports Microsoft Office files, such as DOC, PPT, and XLS. For images, comics, and graphic novels it supports ZIP, JPG, BMP, and GIF.

Battery life lasts up to 9000 pages

You can read up to 30 books (3-4 hours day for a week) as special E-ink display consumes power only when pages are turned.  Also you can listen to music for 24 hours and record voice for 5 hours.
