Hubsan H123D X4 Jet Brushless Racing Drone Review

When Hubsan released their H122D racing drone, they had achieved the design of an affordable drone well poised in aesthetic and performance. But now their new release, the Hubsan H123D X4 Jet Brushless Racing Drone successes the H122D in balance that can be seen in its performance updates.




The H123D, much like the H122D, has been designed to be a “ready-to-fly’ drone to give pilots ease-of-use. However, one major upgrade to the H123D is its brushless motors that Hubsan installed to give a more powerful and sturdy flight experience. These 3-leaf propellers additionally emit less noise and therefore exhaust less energy, giving a slightly longer flight time than the H122D.


The body is made of a lightweight carbon fibre frame that houses the drones 720P HD camera, LED indicators for night flight and 980 mAh 2S battery. All-in-all, the total package weighs in at a featherweight 145 grams.




The Hubsan H123D X4 Jet Brushless Racing Drone sports a low-speed mode for beginners who have yet to earn their racing stripes and a high-speed mode for more experienced pilots. This feature makes the drone extremely user-friendly even for kids.


The drone also includes a low battery protection function that will automatically return the drone to the point of take-off when the battery is low. As mentioned before, the drone has a built-in 720P HD camera that will record via an SD card. The camera also transmits footage in real time via a 5.8ghz signal that can be seen on-screen or through FPV goggles.


On average, expect anywhere from 8-10 minutes of flight time depending on weather conditions. This racing drone can also reach blistering speeds of up to 25 m/s. The H123D also comes with stock acrobatic flips and tricks that can really be a marvel to watch in high-speed mode.




There aren’t many drawbacks that the Hubsan H123D X4 Jet Brushless Racing Drone has. One limitation, however, is its transmission distance of 100 meters which has seen no improvement from its predecessor, the H122D.
